questions!
Q: WHY ARE ESTIMATES DIFFERENT FROM SHOP TO SHOP?
The truth is all shops may see something that another does not when writing your estimate. Don't be fooled into thinking that just because one shops estimate is lower than another, means you have to go
there. A company that places attention on cost cutting measures and second rate parts is not what you
are looking for. Have the person that is writing your estimate explain in detail just what you can expect.
Sometimes quality work may cost a bit more but the end result is well worth it. Also remember that a
estimate is just that, a estimate! Sometimes a body shop can not tell there is hidden damage until your
repairs have actually started. Any hidden damage found is then quickly notified to your insurance
company.
Q: WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY REPAIRS TO BEGIN?
The second we get a approval from you or the combination of you and your insurance company we can
get the ball rolling. Replacement parts if needed will be ordered and a detail process from start to finish
will be explained to you by us. We want to make sure your vehicle looks it's best before we hand you the
keys. Expect the best of quality in the repairs we do.
Q: I JUST CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ON
THEIR DIRECT REPAIR LIST THAT I SHOULDN'T USE YOU, IS THIS TRUE?
NO!... It's your car, and your insurance. No matter which auto body shop you choose, that choice is
completely yours and don't let your insurance company tell you otherwise.
Q: WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We will accept Cash, Personal and insurance checks. If you decide to deposit the insurance check
into your own account, please be aware that it may sometimes take your bank up to two weeks to
clear funds. We however would be happy to accept the check directly as payment. It is also
important to note that all and any deductibles are the responsibility of the vehicle owner and
will have to be paid at time of delivery or pickup of vehicle if applied.
Q: CAN I EXPECT MY VEHICLE TO BE FINISHED ON THE DATE PROMISED?
Most body shops wishing to remain completely honest or transparent will not make a promise like
this. Sadly to say that sometimes due to hidden damage or simply waiting for insurance company
response may slow the process of getting your car and or truck back to you. We will however do
our very best to try and give a accurate estimate of when you can expect your vehicle. The
most important thing is that your repairs are done correctly and that you are happy with
the finished work.
Q: I WAS JUST IN A ACCIDENT AND MY CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Depending on the city or town you are in, many times a police report is required. Explain
to the police officer that you would like to have your car taken to your body shop. During
business hours most body shops will pay for the tow charges for you up front, but be
sure to ask first. If you are using us for your auto body repair just tell the tow truck
driver you want to go to Eric Penningtons Autobody and Paint.
Q: IS THERE CERTAIN CARE THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN FOR FRESHLY PAINTED
VEHICLES?
Yes! but because of so many types of coatings each may be different. Before you take
delivery of your vehicle we will explain how to maintain your car or truck so that it always
looks like you just picked it up. We are here to serve you! If you ever have any questions
just pick up your phone or stop in. The more we can help you, the more we are sure that
you will want to use Eric Penningtons Autobody and Paint as your collision repair shop of
choice.
